this is generally the way it is handled. they probably figured that she couldn't pay for that, so they brought her to jail for 30 min and charge her some nominal fee to grab her attention.

But multiple warnings, a summons, and failure to appear in court will result in a warrant.
It sounds like she wasn't arrested for not cutting grass, she was brought to jail to answer for a warrant for failure to appear.

And then folks bitch about white flight. Let me get this straight, you want the code enforcer to cut the grass? You're a real bright one. Neighborhoods have standards and towns have laws in place to prevent home owners who actually take care of their shite from leaving said neighborhoods. It wasn't just the grass by the way, there were other violations mentioned as well.

Or she could just cut her fricking grass like everybody else living in a house with a yard. And clean it up since it wasn't "just grass" she was cited for to begin with. Problem solved.

Nah. I keep my yard clean, cut the grass (and cut my parent's grass when need be), and I sure as shite am not an OT baller so not being able to buy a lawn mower to do it is no excuse.
Also, she was also cited for trash and broken down cars in her yard. You know what that shite attracts? Mosquitos when water is left standing in them, rats, possums, raccoons, etc. Which makes it a health hazard when you live in a neighborhood, especially one with kids running around.
