Mine initially left the kids and me for another woman. She would eventually go back to another man. I can hardly recognize the girl I went to college with and would eventually be married to for 27 years. I kept trying to figure out what the hell truly happened, and just decided that there were some answers that would never get revealed. I finally accepted we were no more and started moving on.
I would think that it would be more of an insult to one's sexuality for your mate to leave you for someone of their same sex. Then again, it would have made my blood boil if she had left us for another man.
That said, in retrospect, it is really hard to state which is more disappointing. The most disappointing things would be that she left after 27 years and two kids, acts like those 27 years never happened, and has turned into something that I simply have a hard time of recognizing. She is "56 going on 70".
I truly had no way of knowing I would be starting over at this age. At the very least, I am dating women younger than her, but just haven't found one I would be willing to settle down with yet.

After 27 years? You handled it better than I would have. There probably would have been a 40+ page thread (2 bans) from the news link to my action of recourse.
