I have a potential job opportunity in Mooresville, NC which is just north of Charlotte near Davidson and Lake Norman. It would be a long term move where I would be there for a while. I have young kids and he schools look great compared to Charlotte but that isn’t saying much.
Anybody know anything about the area and if it would be a good place to raise a family?

Where you live now? North Carolina is personally one of my favorite states. It’s in the south, but you get all the seasons, plus you have everything from the mountains to the beach. I love it.

I lived off 485 by MT. Island Lake for 6 years and miss it everyday.

I've been in Charlotte for more than 50 years...I like it.
I hope you don't commute to Clt. That stretch of 77 has been a cluster for 5+ years and getting worse.

I live in Buford, Ga and would work and live in Mooresville. No commute.

My company's main office is in mooresville. Been there several times for meetings. Looks like a real nice place. I'd live there if I had to. Lots of Lowe's jobs there. It's like Atlanta for home depot.

Great place. Live on or near lake Norman. Although I would put Providence HS and Ardrey Kell HS (both in Charlotte) over any school in mooresville. Not sure where you heard Charlotte had bad schools. As long as you live in the right area for schools.

Moved to Mooresville 5 years ago with the family from Mandeville. It's been great like others have said.
That I-77 stretch is brutal at rush hour, other than that I would have nothing but positives to say about our experience here.
