Modern day Civil War: Hypothetical.

If Civil war were to happen today along the same state lines from the original conflict, who would you think would win. Assume it's not over race and ignore the western states. Military is not controlled by either side. This is essentially common folk joining up in arms and going at it
I say the south due to large O&G presence (refineries and Chem plants). Also, the south has maintained a strong hold on arms collection and rights. And a large percentage use them regualarly (hunting/recreation).

Assume it's over taxation or something. Or some idea where the southern states felt disenfranchised and wanted separation. It doesn't really matter what the issue is.

The only former Union state that has nuclear weapons stationed there is Nevada. Nuclear weapons are stored at Nellis, but I don't think they're operational.
Louisiana has the B-52H wing at Barksdale and Georgia has the Atlantic SSBN fleet at King's Bay, so two former Confederate states house operational nuclear weapons.
Texas has the Pantex plant where older warheads are stockpiled awaiting decommissioning and demolition, so they're not operational. Missouri has operational nuclear weapons in the B-2 wing, but it was a border state.
All other nuclear weapons are stationed in states that were not part of the country during the Civil War.
Advantage: Confederate states because they have operational nuclear weapons, many of them on Ohio class SSBNs carrying Trident IIs.

This. They could do just like in the real civil war and produce tons of guns to arm their population. Would also have the help from most of Europe to provide extra navy support and stuff I guess.
Kind of a silly thing to try and rationally think about.

I think the populations are pretty close with Texas and Florida 1 & 2 and NY and IL 3 & 4.
Then you have OH, PN, NJ for the north about equal to GA, TN, VA, NC for the south. The rest are pretty insignificant.
