RIVERTON, Utah – An 18-year-old beauty queen set to compete in the Miss Utah pageant was arrested Saturday with three friends after the group reportedly threw homemade bombs at people and homes.
Kendra Gill, who was crowned Miss Riverton in June, was booked alongside friends John Reagh, Bryce Stone and Shanna Smith on 10 counts each of setting off an incendiary device, according to KUTV CBS 2 out of Salt Lake City.
The news station reported that the teens admitted buying plastic bottles, aluminum foil and household chemicals at a Riverton store and using the items to make bombs. They then reportedly drove through several neighborhoods late Friday and early Saturday, throwing the bombs.
"They were throwing them at both property and people," Unified Fire Authority Capt. Clint Mecham told KUTV. "This goes well beyond a teenage prank."
