More than half of millennials — 55% — do not view marriage or having children as very important, with the majority viewing formal education and full-time employment as the highest priorities.

But economic problems are keeping millennials from coming into their own, the data shows. Most millennials said 22 is the ideal age to get a full-time job, but only about one-third of them — 36% — have a job by that age.

About one in three millennials — or 24 million of them —live with their parents, more than any other housing arrangement, the report says.

The study says young men, ages 25 to 34, have plunged in the income ladder, with 41% of them earning less than $30,000 a year. That’s a change from 25% of young men making such low wages in 1975.

That one is the one who's trying to pay their financial obligations (ie student loans). The others are the SJW snowflakes with mace for tears.

Either way... Millennials are the worst generation, amirite?

This is why it's easy to pull arse if you have your shite together. So many dudes out there living with their parents and working dead-end jobs.

overpopulation.

We need an asteroid to wipe out 1/3 of the world as a reality check.

In those moments, all the stupid shite that is so talked about..wouldn't matter anymore.

Thanks greatest generation.
Thanks boomers.

Im well ahead of the game thankfully

A large part of this is due to womens increased presence in the workforce. Bigger talent pool, less pay.

According to Bernie Sanders, this problem will be alleviated by sending everyone to college for free and taxing the tits off of successful business owners.

Seems to me you'll just have more debt and more 26-year-old sociology majors on their parents' couches putting on masks to go peacefully burn down buildings and throw bricks at cops.

How many ways do we need to say this is the laziest generation?

Millennials, Scruffy's generation, are a bunch of whiny counts.

This isn't that surprising. Most people I know that go to school in their home town live with their parent. Why add the expense of housing while you're in school if you don't have to.

This has been proven to be false

I mean the majority of them said their highest priority is getting a full-time job. Isn't that the opposite of lazy?

quote:

"More than 5,600 Americans were interviewed as part of the study, which looked at attitudes towards taking time off work. Those who, for various reasons – guilt, pride or fear of being replaced – did not use their vacation allowance were identified as “work martyrs”.

The results show that contrary to previous stereotypes, millennials are more likely than other generations to be hooked on work: “More than four in 10 (43%) of work martyrs are millennials, compared to just 29% of overall respondents.”

The study also found that 24% of millennials forfeited vacation last year – meaning they didn’t use holiday days they were entitled to – compared to 19% of generation X and 17% of baby boomers"

Now what is the job market like compared to our parents generation, and what is the cost of living compared to average salary like compared to 20-30 years ago?

We are nearing the end of the "millennials in college" era. That excuse won't, and probably already shouldn't, work anymore.

Most millennials are early 20s to 30s.

i know a lot of recent college grads who have a full time job related to their degree, but they live at home to work on their student loan debt. i have a hard time making fun of them.

most millennials living at home are not in this situation though.

All this tells you is that women have pulled way ahead of men. For whatever reason young men choose not to go to college

dude it was the same in the 70s. We were in a recession, economy was shite, jobs scarce. Cost of living was no different than now, relatively speaking. Yet people made it. Everyone needs to:
A: quit feeling sorry for yourself and thinking you're the only one who ever faced adversity.
B: keep pushing. This is the only game you got so sitting around bitching about it is pointless. Just get in it and start participating. There isn't an alternative.
