My life would be much more difficult without my wife. It's cheesy I know but don't care.

Ah, I'm in your boat. Mid-30's, I'm in business for my self going on year 2, I work 18 hour days sometimes,. I feel you... I'm at the point where I don't have enough money to hire a secretary so half the time I'm doing paperwork and the other half doing work that creates revenue. I could pick up more work but the paperwork side will drop off. And add to it that I'm in a constant struggle and headache with my ex to gain more custody of my 5 year old son. The ex sits at home sucking every dime I make. It's a constant cycle, lol.. the only thing that brings me peace from the monotony is going out in the woods hunting and doing a little fishing... Just take a break here and there. I promise it will ease all the stress. I think of my son and tell myself that I have to get over the hump so I can regain custody of my son. I tell myself if it was that easy everybody would be doing. That motivates me and gets my motor burning again. but yea, you have to step away sometimes just to clear your head... Then get charged back up with a goal and go getem again rock!

Having a supportive SO makes a huge difference when you are going through tough times.
Just knowing that they have your back no matter what....can make all the difference.

It sounds like you're finally maturing enough and realizing Money isn't everything. Find out what your passion is and pursue it. If you don't know what it is, start up a few hobbies until you discover it. Seriously, LSU leisure classes are a good place to start. Go back to what made you happy as a child. I recently returned to fishing, and just being outdoors is amazing therapy.

Slide on over to the Outdoor Board and get your mind right.
They can help you with a good fishing spot, or the game of your choice.
Never under appreciate what you still have. A day with your dad on the lake, or ice cream with mom are a luxury to some.
Life isn't measured in currency. It's measured in days. Live for you.
Both very solid and spot on advice IMO. Not much more I could add to what these two have said.

I knew all along that an easy job and less money was the right option for me. It's def a touch balance to find.

That so sad to read. I was in that situation before. I just kept waking up each morning. I tried to make small personal goals for myself. I even went outside of my comfort zone to find something to look forward to & just to say I overcame that particular fear.
I'm better now but still struggle now & again. I hope this helps
I wish you all the best.

I have had one of types of jobs. Extremely demanding but I loved it. They key for me was taking regular vacations or I would burn out. I also learned to take one week off from the gym every four weeks to give my body time to heal and my mind time to miss working out
