No she won't. She can't just find another residency spot. She has to match back in or luck into a program that needs a PGY-3. Any scenario will require an explanation to the question of whether there was a gap in her training and why.

Eh, neurology residencies aren't in great demand. She might find some place with a PGY4 opening sometime. If not, I figure she will have to just work in a walk in clinic/urgent care place.

I'm sure her father, who is a neurologist or mother who works at Barry Univ. will be able to pull some strings.

Just another dumb, drunk broad who went full nutjob mode.

The market for people that get fired from residencies are really slim, much less for someone fired as publicly as her.

Why couldn't they pull those strings when she was applying to med school? She's done.

Couldn't she just work in Urgent care then, since she completed an intern year?

Yeah, if she's passed step 3, she can get a medical license. She can work at an urgent care, but her opportunities are pretty much nil aside from that (and I'm not sure it'd be that easy for her to get an urgent care job).

She was less than a year away from being set for life, after working her arse off for at least the past 12 years, only to see it all evaporate from being a drunken idiot.

I can't imagine that kind of failure.

I would be willing to bet there are numerous physicians practicing today that did MUCH stupider shite at one time or another - many I would imagine, while in their residencies.

They were just lucky, I suppose, not to have come of age in the era of the dreaded social media scarlet lettering for life phenomenon. I know I often count my blessings for that fact.

I have personally seen classmates do similarly stupid things while intoxicated.

No, she'll end up in a rehab program designed for medical professionals. It's brutal and lots of dumbasses wash out even given that second chance, but she'll be given one more shot.

Those programs work for people that don't actually get fired or have completed residency.

She's a Caribbean grad and was fired from residency in a very public manner. How will she find another residency?

Didn't know that. She's probably not eligible.

I'm betting we don't hear about it either way, so why are you so concerned?

It's an internet thread and we're discussing. Why are you so concerned? That doesn't make sense.

Don't worry. I doubt you'd be able to pull the doc, so you won't have to worry about how she ages.
