Steve Wynn has resigned as CEO and chairman of Wynn Resorts, the company announced Tuesday.

The move comes after a Wall Street Journal report published in January detailed allegations of decades of sexual misconduct by the gambling mogul.

The allegations in the report detailed accounts from dozens of current and former employees that would amount to "a decades-long pattern of sexual misconduct," as well as a $7.5 million financial settlement paid to a manicurist who alleged she was pressured into having sex with Wynn.

"It is with a collective heavy heart, that the board of directors of Wynn Resorts today accepted the resignation of our founder, CEO and friend Steve Wynn," non-executive director of the board Boone Wayson said in a statement. "Steve Wynn is an industry giant. He is a philanthropist and a beloved leader and visionary. He played the pivotal role in transforming Las Vegas into the entertainment destination it is today. He also assembled a world-class team of executives that will continue to meet the high standards of excellence that Steve Wynn created and the Wynn brand has come to represent."

Am I wrong to think people shouldn't lose their job over this? Its despicable behavior, but I have yet to figure out how it affects job performance. We wouldn't even hear about half of these instances if the person didn't resign making it "a bigger deal" as far as the news goes

He must also see this as a an excuse to retire or step behind the scenes because what I have read about him he seems to be the type to give a big F you and not care if he really wanted to keep doing what he does.

Has any woman in history ever agreed to sex?

These stories make me question it.

Because it can affect profitability in the long run. You don't want to be on the wrong side of this these days.

Isn’t he legally blind? Maybe he just accidentally grabbed hundreds of womens tits when he really meant to shake their hand or put his arm around their shoulder.

I just dont think that this is true. This is just the outrage du jour. Companies have an executive resign, the stock goes down a couple of percentage points that day, and by the end of the week its back at all time highs.

Obviously there are exceptions, like the Weinstein Company that did see a large drop in value, but that was a high profile first case. Wynn's company will be back to where it was before Valentine's Day.

Wouldn't a hooker from the main bar at the Wynn been more cost effective?

That's not what I said. If they want to press charges and the person is then convicted of a crime, then yeah, they should probably be fired. I'm just skeptical on convicting people in the court of public opinion before we KNOW any facts.

I have no problem with anyone coming forward, but imo, a claim should be substantiated before you take that kind of action against someone.
