I live in the area of murders just 1 block away and we have been having constant crime of stolen cars and breakins over the last two years. The JPSO held a neighborhood watch meeting discussing crime in First district 1.5 years ago and crime has continued unabated.

Our Whitney-Heights Assoc. attended that meeting 1.5 years ago and a lot of neighbors believe that crime incidents have either not been reported to JPSO or First District is not accurately reporting the true crime figures. Area residents will now demand an investigation of crime statics and politicians especially those running for CouncilPerson at Large will be question why crime has not been deterred in First District.

These thugs have ZERO regard for human life, theirs or anyone else. They literally don't care if they live or die.

That's the problem.

While I am against the death penalty, it's open and shut cases like this one that really strain my position. Very difficult to see a problem with giving her life in return for testifying against the shooter, and giving him death.

I would have no issue personally putting a bullet in this piece of shite's head. What an infuriatingy random senseless killing.

Good job to everyone speculating the son had drug issues though. Way to deliver OT.

You hit the nail on the head. How do you deter someone who literally doesn't care what happens to them

for real what would the defense be hoping for? a choice between life in prison without possibility of parole or death?

He needs to be shot with that shotgun before dark today, IMO. I am all for Sheriff Normand doing it himself. We need more guys like him fighting crime.

Yeah, OT completely jumped to conclusions on this one as usual. Even had guys saying they knew there were drugs in house.

So how long until StongSafety shows up to tell us we don't know the whole story and that the black man's plight made these assholes murder this family?

he has a point... this doesn't happen in their neighborhoods

or if it does, they find a reason to say "they had it coming"

We need to start locking car thiefs up and not in the Jefferson Parish jail but in a Sheriff Joe Arpaio way( Sheriff in Arizona that houses them behindi barbed wire fenced areas in tents, makes them wear pink underwear and feeds them baloney sandwiches. No TV, no work out rooms, no basketball courts.

Car thiefs get the revolving door and word gets out among teenager friends that if you get caught stealing a car you get probation and another and another chance. Deterrence of crime only occurs when judges give out the correct punishment to the maximum. Think about it.

Yep, Jefferson Parish needs to make an example of these two, just to get the message out to all the other scum doing the same thing...

Are you suggesting Metairie isn't more dangerous than say, 10, 15 years ago? Do you see anything that suggests it won't get worse? Consider gentrification in nola, section8 and a govt announced effort to expand that and the presence of far too many apartments that are now housing losers.

well yeah but i'm not all about shooting them at dawn before the case is tried...

but this case will hopefully put a spotlight on the perp's family or lack thereof, his friends, his influences, and what made him do what he did, and if we can prevent another incident in the future, then great

bc the articles all say he had no major criminal history. i take that to mean he wasn't a so-called "lost cause"

It only takes once to be a lost cause and he's only 17. He was probably just starting his life of crime.

There was no reason to shoot David and Nick Pence.

Thug could have gotten whatever he wanted from those people.

Many thanks to this Tigerdroppings site who broke this story Saturday and allowed commenters to voice our complaints in an uncensored way because www.nola.com not only does not accurately report the facts but they censor any commenter who may bring up anything possibly remotely connected to crime statics relating to certain racial makeup.

Go Tigers - you have made a difference in our lives again as a strong voice against rampant black crime on whites and racist blacks on the lives of the police which are struggling against the national racist black leaders who only preach racial cruelty by police and citizens defending themselves.

If they can 100% prove the dad was sleeping when he was shot then I think this kid will get death. This story needs to be made into a huge deal and people have to start being aware of their surroundings. In this case the garage door was open as was a side door to the house. I know it sucks but it's not the 50s anymore.
