If anyone has updates on Metairie, that please post them here.
Try to include specifics on the location, if possible.

I realize there is a general Ida thread, but we are evacuated and it’s tough to wade through multi-page threads.

Have family in Airline Park and off Clearview between W. Metairie and W. Napoleon. Trying to get updates - talked to them this morning and they were all good. Just texted to try and get an update on the neighborhoods (trees down, etc.). Will update as I get information but I think their cell service is spotty atm.

Sister's house on Maryland Ave made it through very well. Missing a lot of shingles and fence damage, but that's it. No water like most of Jefferson Parish

Have family in the same neighborhood, Heard the same. Her house made out fine with just some superficial damage.

I have inlaws in old metairie off bonabell and i live off bonabell between W. esplanade and the lake. To my knowledge from neighbors that stayed and my inlaws, no running water and inability to flush toilets. At the very least, minimal use of toilets. Inlaws house has some siding and shingles missing. Several down tress as you can imagine.

House damage is one thing but the downed tranmission line is making it almost inhabitable so it appears it will be quite some time before power is restored.

Are you having issues with texts to people in that area currently? I was able to get through about 0600 this morning, but texts to my mom and cousin just now are going undelivered.

Happy to hear your family made it through safely as well.

From my JPFD brother in law, they haven't been able to get out and really assess things yet, he knows lots of water mains are broken so most/all of JP is without running water.

I have family in the bonnabel by the lake area. Trees, power lines, fence boards, roof shingles seems to be the most damage. They don’t have energy obviously and the water pressure is low to non existent.

Girlfriend's family lives in Metarie off of Harvard st. The whole neighborhood from what we've heard didn't flood etc. Just sustained wind damage. Her family's house lost about 90% of shingles on the front side of their roof.

I just heard Impastato tell WWL that the uprooted trees pierced a bunch of water mains, so water will be out for at least 5 days.

Near West Metairie and Houma by Clearview. Haven’t been able to really get around and assess. Lot of wind damage. Most houses seem good though

Some wind damage off Metairie Road near Causeway. Nothing major.

No power/water.

Dad said it never came close to flooding and never really rained that hard.
