You do realize it's not 1950 anymore, right?
Posted on 12/24/14 at 7:44 am to LNCHBOX
It's not 1950 that's why you don't wear ties that only go halfway up your gut (Abbott and Costello types) or West Side Story Bernardo ties. You do realize that we are talking for business professional wear and not hanging out in clubs?

Skinny ties have been back in fashion so long that they're going back out of fashion again. Geez get with it dudes.

I'm aware, and I can 100% guarantee you that your view on professional attire is outdated and no longer correct.

I'm in the business world and see the younger generatok rocking skinny ties. Boomers still rocking the regular ones. All depends on body type to me.

The younger generation tends to wear clothes a size or two smaller than they should as well. In a few years I believe it is one of those fads that will looked upon like short shorts on dudes in the early 80s.

Probably a good example. Boomers like me wearing traditional business attire. Younger twenty something types can get away with anything in NY except in stuffy places. I work in the Garment District area and she some funky clothes in the building, male and female.

Fashion is art form, art is expression. I like it all, just not on me. To each his own.

Men's fashion used to not be a thing.
Then the metrosexuals and homosexuals ruined it.

I didn't know men cared about fashion. I just wear whatever is cheap or can fit

You also are a self proclaimed coonass so...
Posted on 12/24/14 at 9:01 am to JEAUXBLEAUX
You probably sport those wide-arse ties and collars from the '70s.

My only fashion is camo. Preferably multicam

shouldn't rock skinny tie if you're a broad guy imo. and it should be proportional to the width of your coat lapel. shouldn't rock a 90's jos a bank coat with wide arse lapels with your new skinny tie. for professional wear, i'd stick with ties at least 3". anything smaller and you risk being mistaken for a bank teller

Skinny ties should be banned. They look like shite. If I walked in and saw my lawyer wearing a skinny tie I would fire him on the spot.
