5.5 pages and no one has given the explanation as to reasons for the knee-over-knee crossed leg position:

If you're wearing nice pants or a suit, you don't want to get them dirty by accidentally dragging your sole across the fabric while propping your ankle on your knee.

FTR I do both, usually depending on what I'm wearing and how tight my leg feel.

Occasionally my knee (the side thats unsupported) starts to hurt if I'm sitting ankle across knee for a while.

On the other hand, my foot often falls asleep if I'm sitting knee over knee.

So I switch it up

I'm double jointed, to where its uncomfortable as 10 fricks to sit in that position. Cross legged is comfortable for me, so I don't give a frick.
