Call me sappy, but I’ve got a kid in the service, and today means more than barbecue to me.

One small way to remember the sacrifice of the fallen is through a movie that shows it.

I’m thinking about Flags of Our Fathers.

What’s your pick?

I'm a retired Army Vet, this what my fallen battle buddies would have wanted.

That’s next. Have 2 episodes of Band of Brothers left and then starting the Pacific.

Merills Marauders

Sgt York

To Hell and Back: The Audie Murphy Story.

Midway

PT 109

I can have these on TV all day with the kids.

The newer movies like my favorite Platoon are a bit too much for my small ones.

Sullivans is a good one.
it led to the policy that you see in Saving Private Ryan.

USS Juneau Memorial is downtown on the waterfront, they have a ceremony there every year.

Carolines Spine had a song in the 90's that used some of the original clip. It got dumped from youtube but there are fan videos that use the movie clip. Not as good as the original.
