Mechanics: Question about 2010 interior-PIC ADDED
Posted on 8/25/15 at 5:19 pm

I have 2010 F150. I dropped a ring into the plastic cover between my middle console and seat. It's the cover that sorta covers the belt buckle latch.
Is there any way to remove this cover to get into it? Or is my best bet to just take it to a shop in the morning?

Everything in a vehicle is capable of being removed.
Try this thing called google. It will help you.

The buckle side of the seat belt is usually bolted onto the floor board underneath the seat. Try pushing the front seat all the way forward to get better access. Maybe if you remove the buckle, you will be able to shake the ring out. That bolt/nut probably has some serious tension on it, fwiw.

Whyd you post a pic of a 250 when the op asked about a 150?

I can't find much on how to remove it on google.

Slide the seat all the way forward, there is a T30 torx head bolt(I believe) at the bottom of the buckle strap. Remove bolt and buckle assembly comes out.

Move the seat up and take some pictures

It's actually attached to the side of the middle console.

Yeah, and then do what after I get the ring out? Just trash the plastic?

I just can't get a feel for where the ring is...can you see the ring?...

dude just pry it off. Chances are, that like every other plastic piece on that vehicle, it's held on by some clips.

The ring was at the very bottom. I had a coat hanger and was pulling it up and as I went to grab it, it fell back down and went (I believe) in the elbow area.

Most the plastic parts pry off. I can't seem to figure out where this piece is, is this a center console model or a bench console like on the xlts? I've had the entire interior of my '14 gutted. You could always take the seats out if you have a breaker bar. They come out pretty easy.

Dropped your NuvaRing again?

Snap the plastic right back where it went. If there aren't any screws holding it in, it just pops in and out

Yeah, it's an XLT and it's a bench console. The console folds back so you can have a bench seat. The pic I posted is the plastic piece attached the side of the console on the passenger side.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for all the input.
