Massive increase in data usage (Verizon).

My data usage has apparently skyrocketed since June.

I have not changed any of my surfing habits, if anything I have tried to cut back/,be more conservative the last two cycles.

Yes I remember there being a thread about this a weeks ago.

I am just wondering, is it possible that I have some type of virus/malware on my phone (Android) or some other reason on my end. I run weekly scans with the antivirus app that's on my phone (VZ Protect).

I don't have the hotspot on and when I check to see what is using the most data in settings, it shows that Chrome is using the most. This latest cycle had Chrome using almost 7GB (cycle ends Sept 24).

Data usage by cycle:

May 25 - Jun 24 = 2.52GB
Jun 25 - Jul 24 = 4.36GB
Jul 25 - Aug 24 = 9.53GB
Aug 25 - Sept 24 = 8.12GB (this far) Chrome used 6.60/8.12 on the current cycle.

I also find it odd that it almost doubles the amount on the first 3 cycles.

Location service are not on.

Tl;dr using a shitload more data each month since the end of May, with Verizon, without changing my habits (other than actually trying to conserve the last two cycles).
