I didn't know this person but I'm glad they're ok. For as much of a 'big city' as Vegas is it's a pretty small town and a lot of people will work at different hotels or casinos so you get to know a lot of people. It's sad but I'm sure I'll have friends who lost loved ones when this all shakes out.

Any updates on people who have been detained? CNN has been playing the same interviews over and over and didn't even cover the live presser from the Sheriff. Don't have access to any other TV news sources.

With an Air Force base the size of Nellis in LV, there are probably quite a few dependents of AF personnel in LV.

Someone heard his name over the scanner
When I researched Steven C Paddock, he was the closest to Vegas I could get. And had a history of arrests.
He could still be in jail in AZ, and not involved at all. But his name is Steven Chee Paddock, which matches what went out over the scanner
