Been feeding this dog grain free food since it was a puppy.

Would it cause some skin problems or something if I switched to food that has brown rice?

Probably not, but you better slowly transition to the new food or prepare for explosive diarrhea

Might want to make sure the dog isn't gluten sensitive before switching the food. Does she drive an infiniti suv and wear yoga pants?

Table Scraps

Maybe the dog will die early because it hates you

Our Lab, a mostly indoor dog, had stomach issues with almost every type of dry food as a puppy. All issues cleared up when we used lamb and oatmeal in dry format. But, he can eat anything we eat as a snack and has no stomach issues. He even ate an entire rotisserie chicken, an entire chocolate cake, and an 8 piece Popeye's spicy chicken meal and 6 biscuits, all left too close to the edge of the kitchen counter, with no stomach issues.
I tried changing to a new dry dog food after 6 years because it was a free bag of new stuff and he barfed it up after merely 5 mins after scarfing it down.
In summary, dog stomachs are odd!!

My dog is on a gluten free vegan diet. No dairy, tree nuts, or MSG. At first he didn't like it, but now he thinks he's better than all the other dogs. He's kind of an a-hole about it honestly.

When I was a kid we had a big yellow dog, probably had some lab in him I guess. He ate nothing but table scraps for all of the roughly 16 years of his life.

She's eaten a lot of stuff she shouldn't with no issues. Feel like a little brown rice should fine

More than likely it is hereditary.

You can give one Benadryl per 15 lbs. My dog weighs 60 lbs. and she gets 4 Benadryl per serving twice daily.

Also, add Salmon oil or Liquid Derma-3 to your dog's food and use hypoallergenic shampoo (Paul Mitchell or GNC brand) along with hypoallergenic wipes.

Report back.

Misread initial post.

All above still applies as is good information and should be done regularly.

Taste of the Wild is a very good brand that is less expensive than most grain free dog foods.

If you want to switch to a grain dog food, Victor is least expensive of the better brands. Holistic Select, AvoDerm and Merrick are all premium brands that rate out exceptionally well.

Lastly, if you switch food, gradually introduce new food over 7 to 10 day period as you don't want to upset your dog's stomach.

When changing dog foods, you are suppose to slowly transition to the new one as the other poster stated...explosive shits. Also the dog may not take to it if it's a sudden change.
