Article with details
A man with 6 felony counts against him sits in jail for a year without a trial, eventually posts his $460,000 bond and gets the frick out of dodge.
Hopefully the "Friday GIFs" thread offers some good laughs.

Ronald Cooper, 69, is facing four second-degree counts of intoxication manslaughter and two second-degree felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the deadly crash on Texas 105 near Marina Drive in September 2015. Roland Sedlmeier, 49, Melinda Sedlmeier, 42, Harley Sedlmeier, 6, and Sofie Sedlmeier, 4, all died in the crash while two teenagers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Cooper was traveling west on Texas 105 in a 2011 Hyundai Azera when it struck the back of the 2001 Toyota Echo, occupied by the Sedlmeiers. Authorities said the impact caused the Echo to spin and cross into eastbound lanes of the highway, into the path of a 2015 Jeep Wrangler occupied by two teenagers, ages 15 and 16. The driver of the Jeep attempted to evade the crash, but struck the Toyota on the right side causing both vehicles to flip on their sides. The Sedlmeier family was pronounced dead at the scene, and the occupants of the Jeep were hospitalized and later released from Conroe Regional Medical Center.

Might have been some left over family members that posted bail and made him disappear.

This accident, the recent fatal crash on the causeway, and a crash last month on I10 in AP that killed a little girl all have something in common besides being caused by a driver under the influence. In all cases the impaired driver hit the other car from behind. They were not stopped but, I'm assuming, driving close to the speed limit. I wonder what would be a good way to avoid an accident like this or minimize the effects? I always keep an eye on my rear view mirror but what should you do if you see someone approaching too fast? My initial reaction would be to speed up and try to change lanes to avoid them.

what happened? Was the family riding stale in the left lane or did this guy just haul arse on them in the right and hit them? I know it doesn't make a shite either way in terms of fault but there is nothing you can do against stupidity. If you speed up and change lanes the driver going too fast might change lanes too and still clip you.

that highway is two lanes i believe.
ETA: 4 lanes with a center turn lane

Ahhh, manslaughter. Going by your title I assumed this guy went out and murdered 4 people and was somehow given bail. This makes more sense.
This dude needs to be locked up for good. People need to stop getting fricked up and driving. It's like top ten dumbest things you can ever do. Driving fricked up is probably the single most dangerous thing you can do in your everyday life.

Damn. That pic of the family made me really sad. I don't usually feel anything about random tragedy articles.

Criticizing the dead victims? kind of harsh. This is 100% not the family's fault.

Agreed, but now that you mention it we should just deport white people in general, especially the redneck variety.
