I'm sure this all could be solved by getting this man's definition of "battered" my guess is batter contains:
1.0 oz of fried fish
1 case of Natty light
1 mule dick of Busch light
add to fryer for thr...wait we don't have a fryer? oh well, beer sushi.

Oh it was beer battered. He just didn't tell the officer that it was fried first then chased with a beer. That beer just battered that fish in his belly. lol.
