He’s fat enough to post here.

I’ve done this before! There was a safety release on the hose that disconnected when I pulled out. Cashier came out and reconnected, no big deal. This looks like piss poor design.

Dude was trying to get to Cane's before it closed.

Hoses are supposed to have breakaway connectors.

I've seen it happen before, and the safety release stops it from catastrophe.

The very first time that I had to get gas in Oregon, I was already feeling weird about someone else having to pump my gas. When the guy finishes, he says "Okay, you're all set." I wave and say thanks, glad to have it out of the way, and pull away when I feel the hose break away because the pump was still in my tank.
It wasn't a big deal but it was still pretty embarrassing and made me wish that I had a diesel, so I could feel like a normal human being and pump my own gas.

He’s lucky that his car didn’t explode.

Yes, in the US. Check out baw’s license plate.

One time I was getting gas and the guy at the next pump over pulled away with the nozzle still in his truck. It broke away like it is supposed to, but the guy stopped and realized what he had done.
Being too embarrassed to admit his mistake to the cashier, he started trying to reach up and reconnect the hose himself. After about 30 seconds of trying to force it back together, the valve busted and started showering gas down on him. His clothes were completely soaked through and gas started running all over the ground.
Someone ran inside to tell cashier to hit the emergency shutoff valve, and I got the hell out of there.

I did that once with a fleet truck.

Apparently not in England, where this video is from.

Gavin Shoebridge is a twat.

I did that once. Thankfully here they have breakaway connectors and it was a non-event.

The breakaway obviously failed. Every gas line in the US is required to have a breakaway installed in the line. But then again, that doesn’t look like any US gas station I’m familiar with.

Exactly my story. Got distracted, and drove away with it still attached. An annoyed clerk just came out and reattached it. No big deal.
