Yes! I do not care who it is. If it is Mike Tyson killing a man, I might want to look for a weapon or convince two others to help...but they are pussies for not trying to help a man from dying...IN FRONT OF THEM...

There's always going to be a really good reason not to get involved. It's the living with it that I don't understand. This happens all the time. Not beatings to death, but beating the shite out of someone while people watch it go on. YouTube is loaded with videos to support this.

I get that. It does piss me off when I see videos of people laughing or cheering the guy on.

A witness reported that the victim's "face was unrecognizable as a human face" when all was said and done. This story pisses me off so fricking bad.

Don't get me wrong. If you are carrying a concealed weapon, or if you have a physical advantage over the guy, then you should definitely intervene.

I still maintain that there's no way of knowing for certain if the guy has a weapon.

I sort of agree with you, but most people would be hesitant to intervene with a giant blood lusting black guy saying he wants to kill someone. If you aren't sure you can take him, he's probably not letting you limp away from it.

Before clicking the thread, did anyone else assume it would be in Brazil?

But in a crowd of people, is it that difficult to get two men to just pull the fat fricker off the guy? Maybe a few more?

A large crowd makes it worse in some ways. People always assume someone else will jump in.

Apparently it's hard to get one. Would you try and recruit a few and then back off if everyone else said no?

I guess if someone said come on let's get this guy, the likelihood that more would follow would increase.

But you'd think somebody would say "hey, this is bullshite... help me break this up" especially after he said he was going to kill the guy. That would probably have been a good time to act.

I am different than "most people," I guess. I was raised by Great Depression children (my grandparents). I was taught to do the right thing. My training in the USMC taught me the same thing. He is bigger than I am, true (I am 5'9"/200/I have 'guns' though!), but I would have attempted to beat the ever living hell (maybe he WAS possessed...) out of him.

You could grab something hard on site and walk that MF in the back of the head or in the knee caps. Distract him in some way

I always wondered on an airplane full of people, how a couple of guys could gain total control.

There is a famous story in NYC, about a girl who was stabbed to death in the street, while dozens watched without intervening. Kinda like how people peek out in the hallway and close the door quickly when they see the gun wielding maniac chasing a woman in the movies.

I think someone jumping in to stop it would get backed up by the crowd but most of them don't want to be the one to initiate it

Well congrats on the training and the guns. I would hope with skills fit for the situation, you would be more likely to act than some middle aged accountant taking a train ride with his wife and kids.

I'm sure there are situations all over where people intervene and stop an aggressor.
