Man arrested for kidnapping, sexual battery charges at Perkins Rowe parking garage

Leon Curry III (dob 1/2/53) was taken into custody today and will be booked into Parish Prison for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Kidnapping and Sexual Battery (LRS 14:43.1 rubbing/touching).
According to statements provided to detectives, yesterday evening the victim went to her vehicle inside the parking garage when Curry allegedly approached her with a gun and forced her inside her vehicle. Curry then allegedly drove the vehicle to another level in the parking garage and sexually assaulted the victim. He then drove the vehicle back to the original level where the victim heard her boyfriend try to enter the vehicle. Curry then sped out of the parking garage with the victim still in the vehicle. Her boyfriend pursued in his vehicle. The victim stated she jumped from the vehicle before it turned onto Perkins Road. Her boyfriend fired shots at Curry while in the vehicle when he stated Curry brandished a gun.
