The East Baton Rouge District Attorney’s Office has handed over cell phone data to the defense in the Madison Brooks rape case, according to defense attorney Joseph Long.
Long, who represents Casen Carver, said he received the data on Thursday morning, Jan. 4.
This evidence was previously ordered by the court to be turned over to the defense.
Long said he has not gotten a chance to look through it all yet.

This data includes cell phone video from the defendants’ cell phones. according to officials.
Carver, 19, of Denham Springs, was indicted in early May 2023 in connection with the alleged rape of Brooks. Investigators say the 20-year-old died after being hit and killed by a vehicle in Baton Rouge on Jan. 15, 2023.

Where are you getting that the defense has HER cell phone data? I may have overlooked it, but I read that the defendants' cell data was turned over to the defense.

Bingo.
They are going to go with the “nuts and sluts” defense to justify four assholes raping a chick so drunk she damn near had alcohol poisoning.

The defense filed a motion asking for her cell phone data in the 72 hours prior to the incident. looks like the judge granted it.

Totally agree.

I assume this would be to try and paint her in the worst possible light? Otherwise what the hell is the relevance?

What would the 72 hours before on her cell prove? Sounds like someone got to the judge. More crooked BR bullshite, it seems.

Yep. If she hooked up with or sexted anyone in that 72 hour period, the Defense will "leak" all the details to make her look like a slut. Guaranteed. This has to be the ultimate kick in the face to the family if they drag her through the mud.

Someone in her family ought to beat their asses. Nothing she did before running into these scumbags changes what they did.

That's exactly where it's going unfortunately. Yea, the family is going to have to suffer through some major character assassination. I guess it could just be a ploy to try to get leverage for a plea deal too.

Well, definitely don't let the evidence decide.

I don't know what ultimately happened with that, but I'm pretty sure this new motion was for the co-defendnats' cell phones.

The state pushed back, arguing they did not have a right to her cell phone data or her sexual history. The judge, however, ruled in favor of Carver.
That happened in October.

She was a young, hot, college girl that liked to drink and party. All of this is a given to ANY college girl like this. Still doesn’t mean she deserved the fate she received. There’s no way the defense goes anywhere reasonable or sensible with this.

Carver, who was 18 at the time, is charged with principal to third-degree rape, meaning someone was present but did not take part in the alleged crime. In the coroner’s autopsy of Brooks, he mentions signs of anal trauma. Carvers’ attorney says it’s their right to get to know the origin of that injury.
“The defense, us, asked for the last 72 hours of Madison Brooks’ cellphone data. We know from other things that my client certainly did not cause any injury to Madison Brooks. So, we are entitled then to find out if someone other than the defendants caused this injury,” said Long.
The state pushed back, arguing they did not have a right to her cell phone data or her sexual history. The judge, however, ruled in favor of Carver.
I think this all came on the heels of DNA evidence not supporting the prosecutions claims as well.

Is this an alter for the Carver family friend insisting Casen did absolutely nothing wrong?
