It's only as complicated as you make it.

I'm not worried about the apps.
Can't I just move all my pictures/videos to my SD card?
Music is already on the cloud or SD card.
Contacts and files are no issue.

I thought about switching, but no way do I want to re-learn a OS.

yep, much faster at spotting traffic than google maps.

i've taken several trips and had both running at the same time.

waze in every case caught a stoppage on the road and allowed me to navigate around it.

google would 'eventually' see the accident but by then i was already on a side road. if i waiting on google maps i would have been stuck on the interstate with nowhere to go.

COMPLETELY DISAGREE

you cant even install adaway without root.

this is the easiest thing you can do for a new phone is to root it so you never have to worry about it later.

I thought that new S4s are shipping with NB1 so they do not have a direct root method yet. I would not even try to root until there is a good tool.

i do agree with that.

if your phone is so new there's not an established root toolkit available, then that's a good reason to wait.

i dont understand waze. it tells you where cops are? but you have to constantly check your phone. who is gonna do that?

it doesnt have cop alerts?

voice alerts. i have my phone integrated with a bluetooth head unit so it actually turns the music down when it tells me 'cop visible 2 miles ahead'

also tells me 'traffic stopped ahead 2 miles' or 'disabled vehicle on side of road'. its awesome.

you can turn the audio feature on or off.

if you have an app radio or place to mount your phone on your dash, then the GPS is on-screen and you can see the little cop icon ahead of you.

of course its only as good as the crowdsourced info..but its almost always spot on thanks to the 'rewards' you get from not only noting a cop on the road but from the 'thumbs up' or down generated by other users saying 'yes there was a cop' or 'OP full of shite'

you enter enough fake reports and eventually waze stops taking you seriously and doesn't put your reports up.

its a great ...pardon the pun... self-policing system. :rimshot:

Is it easy to report a cop on there? I.e., am I going to crash while trying to update that shite?

some common sense stuff applies. ideally a passenger would be doing this but its like 2 clicks to report a cop.

one, open 'alerts' and you have several you can mash "vehicle on shoulder", "cop", "gridlock" and then click the button as you pass the car/cop, etc.

then its pretty accurate for others until the cop moves.

i used waze the other day for the first time. the directions were the exact same as my garmin. the garmin was about 30 seconds faster.

best i could tell is waze collected data from other waze users for traffic back ups. i never created a log-in since i was already driving. But i could see where it could be a good app.

btw, WONTONGO I don't have any problem with you and especially not CAD703x, who is very knowledgeable and always helpful with the Android platform.

i just hate the "sheep" and "fanboy" references.

we would all lose in the long run if not for competition in the market place.
