I got a poboy from some joint in Lafayette years ago. Supposedly famous for their poboys. Now that was a damn good poboy. I can't remember the name, you know who I'm talking about?

Johnny's opened a place off of Tiger Bend years ago. I think it lasted 1 year, then closed. It was terrible. And trust me, BR has very few decent pizza joints. You have to be awful to fail here.

I've been there, that pizza was not very good....You remember Europe's on Airline Hwy in NBR? I loved their pizza.

I grew up as a kid eating at Europes, only when my parents wanted to splurge. And it was the best pizza I ever had. On splurge Sundays after church, it was either Don's, Lafonda's, Europes, or Bonanza.

A poboy place famous for their poboys. That narrows it down.

The thing is, it's been put on such a pedestal, it will be hard to meet that praise, in turn placing it overrated unfortunately... But I bet it's pretty slamming.

It is certainly a good sandwich, but I wouldnt brag about it. The jalapeno mayo is what makes it for me.

Yeah I don't know about BR and can't really compare it to any other cities but Nola is killing it these days in the pizza department. Seems every part of the city you can grab a slamming pie (although like I said I don't have enough experience other places to do any real comparison) from pizza delicious, to Dominica, to Ancora, toDolce Vita....

But I'll tell you one place that seems to fall under the radar maybe because it's a chain, is Blaze pizza. Does BR have one? If not someone should open one. They do fresh toppings and you get unlimited. You go down the bar like a subway and you tell them what you want with no extra charge. They toss it in the oven at the end, and BAM you have a solid quick personal pizza that is fairly priced.

I will tell yall where to get the best poboy outside of New Orleans (I had someone tell me they stood in line for some of the best poboys in New Orleans and they think this place is better). Fat daddys in Plaquemine.

Another off the radar place that I've had some damn good poor boys... Place called Griffen's in Houma (looks like they may have opened other locations). They do it right and actually put a little pride in their ingredients and product they put out for a fair price. Everything is solid from the fried seafood to the roast beef.

Also when I'm wanting a Poboy, I'm usually wanting a pretty big meal that will fill me up all day and for a good price. Don't like dropping an entire $20 on a sandwich and drink.... Maybe I'm a cheap arse.

Never heard of them, and pretty sure we don't have one in BR.

BR really lacks in the pizza department. It's surprising how crappy the pizza is here.

I want to say that the people who started izzos, or something similar, started Blaze pizza.

Did you know the Izzo's on Corporate shut down? So did that other Mexican place off of college you were talking about. Can't remember the name, little hole in the wall place across the tracks.
