I was on a farm in AR recently where the owner had some draft horses. He also had a matched pair of reddish colored mules. They were all really impressive animals.

OK. So we will use the horses as a tax deduction...

But what 3 horses would you buy with a blank check? I'd assume a great stud, a great mare, maybe 2 studs?? I don't think stud is the right word but you understand.

How old would they be? I'd assume they'd come from a great bloodline? How much would this cost me?

Is like a nice tb broodmare, and maybe 2 yearling fillies. Depends on my taste. The last of the scat daddy babies are coming up. I'd love about a $300,000-$400,000 range per horse

One of my favorite parts of horse racing... are the horses names. Have you ever named a horse?

Also, and I'll leave the horse thing alone, but you said there's no money in horses.
That said, if you remember what I said about my cousin's wife. If "we" had a stable in a tourist location and could rent horses to tourist, could we make money?

You gave me a blank check.
Good horses can be bought for much less.

And for much more. An unproven as a broodmare filly sold for $10 millions few years ago.

Teamed up horses are awesome, and in the right place, valuable.

JoePep, thank you for the none cringe post.

Rhode, would you show your lady friend the pic?

No. She was horse of the year. But had just retired from racing so was not a proven broodmare (producer).
