Two-part question here:

1) Which fraternities at LSU have changed significantly over the last 20-30 years?

2) Back in the day, some fraternities had a definite 'geographical'slant.....for example, one fraternity was known for having a number of LC guys, another for Alexandria guys, etc etc.....has this held up through the years?

Fiji and Acacia have changed the most. DKE, KA, Sig Nu's are the same.

Wow. That comes as something of a surprise. Fiji was quite good when I was around.

As for Acacia, I won't go into what they were "supposedly" known for.....LOL

biggest three groups in mine were NI, Shreve, and NO, and of course a representation of just about everywhere else

Back in the day, SAE had several big groups, Shreveport, Alex and Lake Charles. The rest of the frat was one or two from all points elsewhere.

When I transferred to LSU in the mid 90's the greeks were about where you went to High School as much as where you were from.. At least from the bigger cities. I didn't affiliate because of this and wasn't going to go through pledgeship again..

My impression of SAE was always that they aspired to be DKE-like but failed miserably at it. A few of my hometown buds were SAEs, and they always seemed a little embarrassed at some of the stuff they would do. Having pledges stand at the curb all day, waving at everyone who passed and the like.

Those guys might've lasted a DAY as DKE (or even Kappa Sig) pledges lol

ETA: grammatical edit

My dad was in the one that got kicked off of campus and had their house burn down, so I'd say they changed a lot

I didn't feel like that was the case while I was there (06-10). I'll agree that pledges did stupid shite rather than miserable shite like some fraternities. I found most of it pretty funny. I would redo pledgeship again in a heartbeat so it wasn't that bad at all.

frickers used to drop half bricks from the roof after football games. We soon learned to quit taking the shortcut between the back of their house and the Catholic Church. We called it concussion alley.

Not too surprising.....this was WAY before your time. That's why I was kind of interested how some of the places might've changed over the years.
