The LSU and Southern University agricultural centers both officially have signed on to be the state’s growers of medical marijuana.

On Friday, both system boards independently approved measures to pursue licensing, which will make Louisiana’s public universities the first in the country to be authorized as the sole growers and researchers for the state.

becoming state-authorized growers and producers of the product, which will be consumed only as a medicinal oil and not inhaled or eaten.

What a shame.

If Southern's weed program is anything like most of the rest of that school, you'd be better off smoking oregano.

Are they going to be allowed to go to a legal state, to get some good genetics, or are they going to rely on the government to provide them stains? And isn't it no thc? Might as well grow high CBD hemp at that point. And you can already order Charlotte's web oil online.

I remember doing a drive through the sugar cane research fields for LSU back in the late 90s, and there was a whole row of it growing way out in the middle of one of the fields. The guys driving sped up and said it was just hemp as a research project when we asked, lol.

This is Louisiana, land of corruption. You know there is a huge potential for someone on the inside to skim off the top and line their pockets

What song is that? It's kinda sad that the Cajuns won't have any weed to go along with their mushrooms.
