I love LSU but I am glad that I got my Accounting degree from Southeastern.

People who say they have more money than they know what to do with are correct.

My friend did accounting at lsu and he said they teach “holistic accounting” now since numbers are racist
He was cool with it at first until he did his final project. He had to calculate the widget output of his fake company in dimebags

What does that article have to do with the accounting degree program?

The school also misclassified nearly $6.7 million in severance payments as coaching salaries, benefits and bonuses on its Statement of Revenues and Expenses and omitted nearly $140 million in debt on its NCAA Financial Report.
Enron is on line 1

After suffering a $10 million deficit in 2021, the athletics department brought in $199.3 million in revenue last year while keeping expenses to $197.3 million. The school’s football program generated $95.1 million last year and made a net profit of $35.7 million—a nearly 19% increase from last year.
2% profit margin
Please tell me profit margin and 40 times share that lower is better?

That sounds more like an Econ degree. I had a professor that taught everything with prison economy examples using cigarettes as currency. This was an esteemed up and coming professor at LSU at the church one. He was great.

So you think LSU's accounting professors do the books for the athletic department?
LSU Accounting Grad here. I've hired many SLU accounting grads and have no complaints. So won't be knocking your school in that regard. Southern on the other hand can barely add two numbers together.

Pretty sloppy accounting work. Maybe they don't hire LSU grads to work in LSU athletic department?
State auditors noted multiple errors related to coaches’ pay by the university’s athletics program last year. The school also misclassified nearly $6.7 million in severance payments as coaching salaries, benefits and bonuses on its Statement of Revenues and Expenses and omitted nearly $140 million in debt on its NCAA Financial Report.

It was really just a tongue in cheek comment.

Yeah, that Big 4 pipeline out of Southeastern is quite strong

Someone needs to look into whoever is managing the TAF financials. The error on LSU's financial report was because TAF did not report any of their debt on their financial statements.
But the more concerning part is they have a 12-year loan expiring in 3 years and 45% of the principal is still outstanding. Didn't see any notes about being in default, but there are about to have a significant amount of money callable.
The overpayment to Kelly appears was caught internally, and they have plans in place to fix already.
And the other big "finding" was because some data entry person hit the wrong account number for severance payments. Bottom line was affected, but financials needed to be adjusted to be accurate.

Ahhhh, lol. I missed that implication completely. I thought I missed something.
LSU probably hires grads from other Louisiana schools anyway since LSU accountants all move to Texas and Georgia.

What does this has to do with accounting at lsu? I’d suggest reworking your title

LA Tech accounting degree is severely underrated
