Bought my first a house last year and I'm looking into doing some landscaping in the front yard. I don't know too much about that kind of stuff, so I am looking for some good low maintenance plants for a flower bed in Louisiana. Any input is appreciated. TIA

Lay down astro-turf, then go to the cemetery for the flowers. Lots of free flowers there.

Buy some cheap perennials at home depot or walmart and you will be set.

And for your lawn, just overseed with a lot common bermuda grass.

Just keep the back yard all grass. It's the best way to do it.
