I would do it because their identities can be stolen too.

Yeah they have passports so I guess their information is in there. I hate the internet.

So first question is what LARGE amounts of data was the OMV needing to transfer? Next AND more importantly, with prior known hacks with THIS system in apparent common knowledge, why did the arse clowns at OMV or the state do NOTHING! Oh yeah, and they’ve known they were hacked for a month at least. Jerk away!

Exactly. What does any of this have to do with my Grindr password?

GOHSEP just told everyone that it’s best practice to change your password every 90 days. That hasn’t been best practice for years.

How do you do this? When I try to do it for my kid, Experian gives a warning that you need to be 18 to freeze your credit.

It was a hack of the MOVEit system which is used by government agencies and financial institutions to facilitate the movement of sensitive data.
We get our defense assignments from one company(at least) through MOVEit.

My advice to EVERYONE is to go to all of the 3 credit agencies websites and put a lock on your credit.

No, just did it this morning. All 3 took less than 20 minutes.

Just wondering what attorney is picking this up and running with it? I want in on the eventual class action.

These links may help. It seems more difficult to freeze credit for minors.

Experian minor request

Equifax minor security freeze request

Transunion FAQ about minor credit freezes

Before doing all this, I would double check if the hack affected children who are not in the OMV database.

There’s no reason for the state to be holding personal information. Prep the license, ID, whatever, then delete.

Well most people know the civil service primarily exists to employ people not capable out in the private sector. Which is why they also are difficult to terminate…job protection for those who need it.

Why isn’t there a sticky to one of these threads given the vast impact it has to everyone in the state with a drivers license?

I am. Hit a snag somewhere in the process of creating the free account to freeze credit. Probably high volume of traffic to the site.

Yes, myself and my wife had the same issue. Keep going back to previous page and filling the fields and submitting again. Eventually you get through
