There's this guy sitting at a table behind me. His only job right now is to read his book and not make much noise.

It seems like every task he does, he does at copious amounts of volume. Whether that be clear his throat, open and close is cap to his soda pop bottle, or clean his nose. He even turns pages to the book loudly.

Now normally noise doesn't bother me. For example, if I were in a room with many people having conversations and doing work, everything is fine. However I am in a room of complete silence and you have this dumbfrick being extremely loud just be sitting. His breathing is loud.

It's almost as bad as my neighbor lady. I swear I will be sitting on my couch and she will just open and close her door. Which you could say isn't so bad, but this said door squeaks very loudly. It's if she has rusted hinges exhumed from the bottom of the ocean installed on her door. Old crusty hinges for that old crusty hag of a neighbor.

It seems louder than it really is because the room is silent.

My office neighbor chews ice at lunchtime when it's relatively quiet. First he shakes the cup like he's playing Yahtzee, then takes on a few cubes and chews them.

That term is racist. The proper term is "African-Americans."

I currently work in very close proximity to this one guy in my office that drives everyone else up a wall with his noises:

1. Chews with his mouth open
1a. Eats the loudest foods ever created every day (chips, chex mix, baby carrots, etc.)
1b. And he doesn't just have one quick lunch...he snacks all throughout the day, so the chewing never fricking stops.

2. Slurps everything he drinks

3. Every day at 2-3pm he yawns about every 30 seconds and every single time he lets out a loud 'ho-hum' sound at the end.

4. Gets in these moods where he can't get comfortable in his chair so he fidgets forever while making his chair squeak over and over.

5. Sometimes just randomly starts breathing through his mouth loudly.

The list goes on. I swear it's like he fell out of an episode of Seindfeld or something. It's insane how he cannot do a single thing quietly. Everyone around him has to put headphones in all day

The term applicable here is slef-monitoring. People who are conscious of others around them and are aware of what they are doing, keeping potentially annoying or disturbing noises to minimum are High Self-Monitors.

We tend to be of above avg intelligence.

Forgive the noisy ones. They are ignorant and know not what they do.
