After Katrina he built a few parks in impacted areas of the city.

So what is the status of "incorporate Watson"?
Can't expect all the rednecks in LP to knowingly fund a park that they will never use - or continue to fund one, in this case.
This is a good example of why Watson should be in charge of Watson $s, let the rest of LP fight over the leftovers. Scrap the expansion plans/ postpone for now, bring the operating cost down to a maintenance level, and have frigging more than one or two U-trip tourneys/ year. Problem solved.

From what I've heard, a park isn't allowed to host both, according to the rants on the web. Some parks have been threatened by certain organizations. It's either all or nothing.
I heard that as well when Cypress Mounds switched over to Grand Slam last year.
Which one is more competitive? I've seen teams that play strictly Grand Slam or USSSA.

700k a year budget?
I would have voted no too
Know what my parents did when they wanted a ball park for us to play in? They did fundraisers and built it themselves, they didn't ask for a tax.

Pretty sure the vote was limited to those with the Recreation District 2 area, not parish wide.

Im pretty sure Cypress Mounds and Chappapeela host both...now they primarily host mostly GS, but who says a park canst host both?
You're going to start seeing more parks in Louisiana hosting GS tourneys....I know our team is fed up USSSA and are primarily just going to play GS tourneys except for maybe the 3 USSSA tourneys that you're required to play in to play in the state tourney.

Grand Slam rules are a little different...and their games are longer. GS has better umpires from all over the South. USSSA umpires suck dick.
GS doesnt keep track of rosters online and doesnt have a ranking system like USSSA does.
Inning allowed for pitchers are different as well.
We prefer playing Grand Slam

Out west the big thing to do is play Legions ball all year and play in one U-trip Super NIT to qualify your team for Disney. From Texas to California. Most of the big teams do this.

Heard the supporters were very, very tepid in making folks aware it was out there and needed to pass.
Lots of folks wondering why they heard nothing.
Not an excuse but it appears they may get it taken care of fairly soon.
Live directly across the street from the Park. Walked into Vote on Saturday and notice that their are 5 amendments on the ballot. Not one word in the last month has been spoken about these 5 amendments. I had no fricking clue what I was voting on until I took the time to read all five before I went in the booth. It's the responsibility of local and parish government to inform the voters of the amendments up for vote (if they want the shite to pass). Hopefully the park can get their shite together and remains open to be used by Live Oak Youth.

PCP was the leading source of this kind of crap and now it's creator is the head of the Louisiana GS.

A little further down. Have friends that live in the neighborhood you are referring to.

I say it's a bunch of narrow-minded, anti-tax "conservatives" who don't realize that government requires actual funding to operate. Stupid fricks.
Why should I have to pay for other peoples kids to have a baseball field when I have no kids? Just up the fees on the parents whose kids use the field, kind of the same solution everyone had for the CATS tax. Problem solved.
I'm sure the "greater good" answer is coming...

you don't think the sales tax revenue the park, hotels, restaurants, etc generates isn't spend on you?

You still have pics of south winds water park and thunderbird beach? I googled earlier and your old posts came up

Then spend the revenue generated by the park on the park. Up the fees on the parents whose kids use the park. Make it self-sustainable and there's no need for tax money to be wasted on sports when the roads, bridges, and schools are falling apart.
Sports isn't an essential role of government.
