In the market for a wooden swing set/play set for the kids. Are the ones by Rainbow and Backyard Adventures worth the extra money? Are there any other brands worth looking at?

Do you have multiple young kids?

How close do you live to decent park?

We plopped the extra money down for Backyard Adventures 6 years ago. Still looks as good as the day we bought it while all the neighbors that went cheap have had to tear theirs down because the shite rotted out.

If you have multiple young kids that will use it over the next few years, it's worth every penny.

Yes quality matters. Ours is in great shape 4 years after putting up

Boys use it almost everyday.

Quality absolutely matters. We made the mistake of getting one from Walmart several years back and after two rainy winters it had to be taken down as the wood was rotting.

I highly recommend getting someone else to assemble it for you.

I got a $600 cedar set from Walmart 4 years ago. It's hanging in there, but not in great condition. It took me till sundown everyday after work for 2 weeks and working all day on weekends to assemble it with air tools.

ETA: I had to replace the roof spring of last year as the original tarp ripped off. I installed decking and shingled it.

I bought the cheap shite from Walmart because I thought we'd be moving. 5 years later I'm still at the same house and the thing is falling apart. I even water sealed it two years. Spend the extra money if you have multiple kids.

I have a good one for sale that I can send pics of. It is a little weathered but in good shape. Has two swings, a little play house, and a slide.

I bought one from Toys R Us. It's made out of cedar but seems to be holding up well. Just take your time putting it together and do it right.

The brand name is Ridgeview.

1) check pants for penis
2) go to Lowes and buy treated lumber and a miter saw.
3) build bad arse play set and send the kids outside
4) proceed to rail wife

Don't waste the money. Lazy arse kids these days lose interest after the first two months and revert to Xbox.

ETA: I bought a badass expensive one and wound up putting the reciprocating saw to it after a couple of years and chunking that shite. Waste of space, time, and money.

I walk in, turn all shite off and tell em to go outside.

Kids are the same as they have always been.

I got the big one ($900) at Sam's 4 years ago and it's still in good shape. It sucked to put together, took about 30 solid hours doing it myself. Whatever you buy if wood, seal it after a year or so.

Didn't realize these things cost so much money. I bought this house and the couple left it. I just want to get $100 for it and have someone take it off my hands.

We got ours online at Creative Playthings. It's been up 8 years and still looks good and my youngest still uses it. I've restained it once. It was notably cheaper in cost than Rainbow and isn't the cheap thin beam crap.

I give my kids stuff to do outdoors and I'm out there with them enjoying myself so they aren't lazy arse kids. They won't keep their heads in a video game if they have parents that actually do things with them outdoors.

It's parents that are lazy.

What's your email address? I'd like a picture of it.
I'm in Metairie and might be able to take it.
