And how much did it cost? Thanks.

Dr. Landry at Eyecare and Associates. 3k /eye (2012), zero issues

Jesus. I hope they accept blowjobs or kidneys as a form of payment.

The cost per eye depends on your prescription. Mine only cost about $2K total and 13 years later I have not had to have additional corrrections.
I had mine done but I did it in Baton Rouge. Eye Medical Center is the place and Dr. Charles Afeman or Dr. Michael Haik have good reputations.

Landry does not cost $3K an eye. Standard cost is $995 an eye. Custom is $1495 an eye.

Landry is my partner and we a set price for the practice.

Whoops, meant 3k total. Easily worth it to not have to fool with glasses or contacts. Drove from Metry to Kenner same night as surgery.

Dr Caplan in Metairie. Total cost was about $2700 when it was all said and done. This was 8 years ago

What constitutes a standard vs. custom?
Insurance typically doesn't cover LASIK, correct?
Do y'all offer a straight-cash-homey discount?

I went to Dr Sumich at Eyecare Associates. Total cost was around 1,500. He's a cool guy too.

A few of my friends used him. They were all pleased.

Looks like he charges $800 per eye and he has a cute Asian-y nurse. Your move, EYEDOCNO...

I started getting nervous when the first guy said it cost him $3k/eye. Feeling a lot better now.

I had a stigmatism and needed glasses and that's all mine cost

("astigmatism", BTW)
Reading the symptoms, I think that's what I have. I've tried out family/friends's glasses before and few help. They've all been near or far sighted. I get very minor headaches after reading for a long time, and my short and long distance vision is equally meh. Plus astigmatisms supposedly occur early and my issues started in high school (it hasn't gotten that much worse over the past ~15 years). I can still get by without correction, but I've finally got a steady job and money set aside, so it's time to take care of this shite.

He did mine too. Used Care Credit to pay it off over a year.

I can't beat $800/eye, but most people don't end up paying $800.

Custom is a special type of procedure that not only corrects myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism but also something called higher order aberrations. In my opinion I don't think it is necessary for most patients.
Insurance doesn't cover it, but some vision plans offer a discount.
