The best way to view the Persieds is to get to a wide open, dark sky location. If you're in the city, you may see a few but the sky glow will really affect the amount you see. From a dark sky location you should see anywhere from 50 to 100 an hour. In the city, maybe 10 to 20 an hour. Let your eyes adjust to the darkness, find the constellation of Perseus. The meteors will appear to be emanating from there. There are several night sky apps available that will pinpoint constellations. The one I use is SkyView. The best time for viewing is around 3 or 4am. The main thing is to be patient, many minutes may pass without seeing a single one followed by short bursts of activity.

Lol, was thinking you misspelled Percocet. Too many clouds here in AZ tonight to see any meteor showers. Sigh.

I sat out there for a while. Didn't see anything so I lost interest

Perseids should have been easily viewable with the new moon not brightening the sky.
Sadly, I'm still jetlagged and missed.

My SO and I went outside around 12:30 until about 1:20 last night and was able to see a pretty decent show. About 40 in total between the two of us. Lots of small ones that you could barely see or tell and a few pretty spectacular ones that left pretty long trails and flashed brightly.
Rural MS. Definitely came in spurts. Went 5-10 minutes without seeing one and then we would see 6-12 in the next 2-3 minutes.

The Pyramids were built to mirror some Satellites visible over Ancient Egypt.
