There's a facility on the LC campus in Pineville that's open to the public. You may have to pay a monthly membership.

Use Google Maps/Earth and look around your area. Find a house with a pool. Sit outside the house for a while. See when the owners are away. Keep a book and record the times. Once you feel comfortable enough, start hopping the fence and swimming.
If caught, say you have a condition when your skin becomes extremely rough. If you don't get to a source of water fast enough, it could be fatal.

Used to go to ASH, but that was only because my grandpa was a principal there in the 70s
