Hey guys, I have a friend in a walker who is looking for a contractor to help her finish her house from last year's flood.

She needs counter tops, doors, back splash and a couple of other minor things. She's having trouble getting anyone to commit because it's a rather small job, but her mortgage company won't release the funds until she has a licensed contractor to do the job.

Anybody know anyone?

Has she tried home depot? I've used their contractors before and had good results.

That's Betty Boop in my avi. The only thing I have in common with Betty Boop is that I'm that ancient and a little flirty.

I'll tell her about Home Depot. Thanks.

NoHo.

Seriously, a friend of mine managed a hardware/lumber yard for almost twenty years. He recently switched jobs, but more than likely he will be able to give me a few suggestions. It will be people in the Baton Rouge area, hopefully he can give me someone who does in Walker.

I will have to text him in the morning (I actually talked to him today and he has to go into work tomorrow at 5AM so he is likely sleeping right now).

I can't say for sure he will be able to recommend contractors who does what your friend is looking for, but there is a good chance he can. I'll post tomorrow to let you know what I got.

We'd prefer someone not calling the shots from jail or using her money for bail. ??

NoHo! I am sorry I am late with this. I just texted him and he told me the only problem is that he isn't sure if he knows anyone who will go to Walker, but he will find out more information on Monday.

I will let you know if he gives me anyone he knows that will go out to Walker. I apologize, but he is the one person I know, who would have known someone.

Thanks Walt. Problem is her mortgage company won't release the funds if they are not licensed.

What? She was trying to find out something to help her friend. The only person I know, who could have provided me with information that she could have used to pass on to her friend was a matter of sending them a test. Is that somehow a problem?

Danny Gallman, Gallman Construction. He built our house and wrangled subs for us on some later remodeling. He's from Walker and a generally good guy who should be able to help or point you in the right direction.
