There was report of gunshots heard in the area, but not on campus. Most likely coonass blasting away at squirrels

About 12-15 police cruisers on campus right now. Just past by there during lunch and noticed. They weren't rushing with lights or sirens to get there which was a good sign..

the school is safe and there are no indications of any danger and possibly could have been hunters in the area.

Why is this a thread? This happens probably 5-10 times a week in any rural school district

Gun shots off in the woods, stray dogs, pissed off parent going through custody battle

Someone might have finally gotten tired of those ducks and canadian geese flying over at roof top high...

Galvez is practically the safest place on earth. It's probably some of those Lake people causing ruckus.

Gunshots from the woods(private property) around there are VERY common. Unless it's from one of the two shoddy arse trailers right there on SE and SW side of 933@Sevario.
Otherwise, this is absolutely stupid.

When I was in the 5th grade, we literally walked across the street and shot guns for hunter safety.

Unless something actually happened then you would be asking why nothing was done.

Sadly in this day it is better to be safe than sorry now.

Because I have a kid there now and other family went there. Grew up near the school. You are right, it is rural, but not surrounded by woods. Mostly single homes on large lots or tracks of land. Not exactly prime squirrel hunting territory; but someone at the school mostly likely overreacted.

You're talking about a school in a rural area where gunshots are COMMON. Hunters shooting on their private property.

My son played football and basketball games there in the last 4 years as well as practiced around the corner at Central Middle. You hear gunshots year round from those schools out there. Admittedly I'm from BR and that took getting used to, but the native countryfolks are completely unfazed by this.

Unless it was on the campus, it's an overreaction.

I can't tell how many times I wanted to blast those geese out of the air around 5:30 in the evening.

I've seen some shite in 4 years out there. I really enjoy when former customers show up on the Creole Arrest list and I'm totally shocked.

So many of these people remind me of Early and Adele.

Dude. I wasn't joking.

Except the old lady in the Second Trailer(furthest east from the SE corner. She sits outside waving at everyone. I haven't seen her in a while. Hope she's okay.

I always admire the huge concrete slab out in front of the current trailer where the previous 16x80 was once parked on.

It's so tempting b/c they are so low. The biggest deer in AP besides the ones in BASF roam in the Galvez area.

I did 4th through 8th grade at that school, after getting kicked out of St. Theresa's. Good times.
