The problem I have with this "we're just out here for fun and to meet new friends" mentality is it forces kids and parents who are half way interested in ball to have to play travel ball to learn the game. The result of that is travel ball is then watered down by a bunch of people half way interested in playing ball. Rec has become the like how the worst team in the league used to be and travel ball has a ton of teams with kids who can't throw and catch.

As an English teacher, I couldn't get past the comma splice and egregious run on sentence.
