Hello, it has been a good long while.

Are you still doing the Jeep/Pug/NICU thing?

Right, I knew you did something with kids but I couldn't think of a better acronym than NICU.

Hey nursie.

Pull yourself from where you are right now and fling the morbid imagination of your mind to the past.

You are in Rome. Just after the defeat of the Roman army by Hannibal at Cannae.

Their army is 5 days away from marching on Rome and taking it. What awaits you In the aftermath of such a battle is what was all to common throughout history.

Raping and pillaging on a massive scale.

So what do you do, as a woman?

Attempt to resist legions of men who want no more than to ravage your tender bits?

Throw yourself at the mercy of some soldier of rank, giving yourself willingly over as a piece of plunder in hopes you'd be spared the brutality of some worse fate?

Or something different?

I'm always intrigued at the mindset of a modern woman when placed into such an unmodern and real setting.

That is too much thinking for me on a Friday night free

I have two school projects I have to start and complete tomorrow before my trip to LA. Don't make me think tonight

I'm watching Millionaire Matchmaker cause I don't want to engage many brain cells at the moment

What we call "civilization" is such a thin veneer.

We think ourselves so prim and proper but the truth is when our little reality is threatened, really threatened? It cracks like spidered glass.

And what is underneath is what remains of the true beasts we are. Predator or prey.

Just got home from dinner and drinks though.

Going HAM out in the desert or having dessert...

Either way I hope you're well. I read in the paper that PHX was shut down due to a dirt storm. Sounds dirty as 480's co-eds.

Nah I was just out with my husband and my cousin.

My "being wild" moment tonight was ordering a third drink once I made sure my husband could drive us home

I will say though....it was nice to just get out and take a break and relax.

Meh, they really aren't that bad. It's pretty obvious when they blow through. Just stay off the freeways and you are fine.

Hope all is well with you too SS

Ain't that the truth.
That first split after a dry spell and your eyes roll back in your head.

That rush, that feeling of conquering...sweeter than Tupelo Honey

Man, I can't help what nature primed me to do down in my beast heart.
Fight and frick.

That's what's in us when you scrape off the skin of humanity. We are animals.

We are naked beasts dressed in the trappings of thousands of years of bullshite to deny our true nature.
And damn if it doesn't feel exquisite to embrace what we are in all its naked glory.

All men are ruled or rulers.
But in the darkness of the bedchamber, when all the rules fall away and it is merely a man and a woman.

Right there, you are two tumults of flesh raging against a cruel world that would extinguish our light at a glance. In that decadent embrace we are our truest aspects.

I'm sorry man, but you apply too much romance to something that is so feebly base that a mere profit motive can overcome it in the rational mind.
