Highway 190 closed in Walker near SLU Literacy & Technology Center...Walker PD saying on Facebook the bridge over Colyell Creek is unsound.

With the other bridge over the same creek on Burgess Road out, there is now only I-12 left to get into Walker from Denham or Baton Rouge unless you take Hwy 16 to 447 down close to Port Vincent.

Sheesh.

This baffles me. How much of your week is wasted on the interstate?

I'm guessing this isn't going to make getting to work any easier for you.

Almost all the bridges in Louisiana are unsound. Shouldn't change anything.

How is it wasted if he's making and receiving phone calls and being productive during his commute?

Do you think everyone that commutes doesn't have shite to keep them busy while they drive?

I sometimes get more shite done on my ride home than I do sitting in the office for 6-7 hours.

I make work calls, Mardi Gras Krewe calls, Hell last week we scheduled our Fantasy Draft and rounded out our League while in interstate traffic on the way to and from work.

As someone who has lived his entire life in Livingston, my commute started at 18 when I became a commuter student at LSU. They were busy either expanding or improving I-12 at that time so it was a trial by fire for me.

So literally my entire adult life I've been commuting through traffic to get to school, school and then work, and then just work. It's totally understandable for someone not used to it to flip out and go crazy thinking about it. But before the floods, I left downtown at 4 and was almost always home before 5 and I live in Walker.

Commuting is my norm.

actually yes. I'm not an OT baller but I do ok. We like it here , it's a small subdivision. All our neighbors are really good people, we all watch after each other( neighborhood watch) We have a fireman, cop and three retired military on our street. Most every evening a lot of people are out walking with their kids. Our school here in Holden is always getting awards. We usually graduate about 25-30 kids a year with most going to some type of college. My son graduated from Holden and will get his degree at LSU this year ...Mechanical Engineer

If there's a silver lining to this flood it's that I now know the name of that creek.

This is going to be unsafe and horrific on I12 as well. Some Walker dumbass was directing traffic with a working light at the off ramp last week. Traffic backed up to Juban on I12 since he didn't let enough cars go. Expect more of the same now.

Is that why the eastbound rush hour traffic is insanely bad there? The backup of cars on the shoulder is so dangerous.
