They’re all on back order here in Louisville. Haven’t been able to find an at-home since before Christmas.

Our school district is testing for free at all high schools during the break and that was the only way I was able to get one before a family get together.

All of them probably had mask on in the car.

I used to have the same attitude but I’ve recently learned hospitals will turn you away and make you get a Covid test for the slightest symptom even if you are trying to be seen for something unrelated.

Ok explain to me if the virus is no big deal, why are so many people getting tested?

We don’t have to burn our regular PTO if we test positive for COVID. There’s a separate allotment of days set aside.

Our school district also has a different set of absence days to denote a quarantine but you need a positive test supervised by a healthcare professional to prove that.

If I have COVID and have to quarantine then I’m getting tested so I don’t have to burn my regular vacation/sick time.

Because they want to get out of work and have a long holiday weekend, many with 5-10 paid days off that don’t take from their PTO.

I’m perplexed by all of this. I had a bad LRI after Thanksgiving and called my doc to see if they could get me something to sleep at night. They told me they wouldn’t see me without a negative covid test and I had to go to Urgent Care.

My mom visited the same doc this week for an annual physical and he said his practice alone saw over 100 positive covid tests by 2pm that day.

All I wanted was some codeine. Just some codeine. And they wouldn’t give it to me. Just some codeine.

You mean if you are actually sick then you are getting tested to see if you have Covid. That's a normal thing to do.

if you aren't sick, then why would you ever get tested?
if you aren't sick, then why would you ever quarantine? If you want to quarantine when you aren't sick, then you might as well stay your stupid arse at home at all times and just quit going out into public for the rest of your life.

For unvaccinated in college, if they have proof of positive test, they don’t have to test or any restrictions for next 6 months (at some schools) Just saying “I had Covid” doesn’t allow the same

The only times I have has been before family gatherings with people who are immunocompromised (I’ve had multiple family members with cancer in the last two years).

I find it hilarious how confused the PT and OT get in why people would want to test

It’s the holidays. You have a slight cold. Normally, yeh you would roll to the party and just say “hey guys I have a slight cold” and kinda somewhat stay away. That’s how it was done forever

But now, that slight cold can be pretty damn problematic to 80 year old relatives

Is this really so hard to figure out? Add that to the list of people needing negative tests for other reasons it isn’t some difficult thing

How many of them are only there to get a test that lets them participate in some aspect of society?

Blame the frickers in charge.
