I have been plateauing a bit on my squat and deadlifts lately and have been wanting to find something to change it up. I was looking around at the gym this morning and saw a hexbar off in the corner. We used to do these a bunch in high school, but there's not a chance I've done them since.

I did some this morning and damn did they wreck me (in the best way possible). Think this is simply because I haven't done them in years or are they a worthwhile lift to mix in? It seemed to remove alot of the back portion of the lift and focused solely on the leg drive. I think my back has been overcompensating on my deadlifts for a while, and this takes a large portion of that out. My quads and glutes were throbbing.

Anyone else a fan of the hexbar squats?

You must workout in Mathews- that's exactly where the evil hexbar hides!

Try shoulder shrugs with it- it's a nice change up as well.

No but I do mix in a couple of sets of either front or zerchers(usually I'll rotate week to week) to complement the standard low bar back squats.

Hits a few different muscles and I tend to get deeper on the other varieties.
