Just got a message from Chase that a levy for like $1200 has been placed on my account. Not a ton of money, but I've payed my taxes, guessing LA gubment done fricked up.

Anybody ever dealt with this? What to expect?

Why don't you call Chase? Do you do your taxes yourself?

What form of "message"?

I would look up the phone number for Chase and call them back.

I did two years ago. This past year I did HR block. Just called the LA dept of revenue...they're having technical difficulties those motherfrickers.

That's inevitable.

However, why don't you call your bank to specifically find out what happened instead of posting this thread?

The bank will generally have contact info for you to call for the reasoning for the levy. I'd call them to make sure there is a hold on your account though, and not a scam/fraud.

The bank doesn't have any control on placing/removing the levy hold though, so all they can do is give you the contact info.

Because chase cant give me the reason for the hold, but they can give me the contact info for the LA dept of revenue...which I've called, and they are experiencing technical difficulties so I can't get an answer.

Knowing them they will probably fine you for a late response on top of that.

Fwiw, these things don't usually sneak up on you. There are a few steps between underpayment and having an account levied.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. As in that likely means LA fricked up, or I fricked up?

This definitely the first I've heard of it.

Could be either. Have you moved? There are usually letters involved and shite like that.

Louisiana Department of Revenue screwed me out of $1900 this year. No reasons given. Just a one page invoice. Before I could contest this situation, my state tax refund was confiscated by the department.

Don't trust Louisiana government.

Those were both transition years. I graduated spring of 13 and moved to OKlahoma, then moved from Oklahoma in 14. But I was back in LA starting in early 15 all the way through December of 16. Figured they would have find me by then.
