The 100-yr rainfall total for this region is 12.6" in 24hrs. If it was 12" in 10hrs, then holy shite...there's nothing that can handle that. I didn't think it was nearly that bad. EBR only seemed to get about 3"-4", which is still a lot.

In Gonzales area,12 inches of rain fell in about 8 hours and around 10am almost 2 inches fell in 30 minutes

No. That's not how that works. Also, this was a little less than a 100-yr event. My charts show 13-14 inches as being a 100-yr 24-hr event.

Just quoting Grimes, man. Bottom line is that much rain in that short of a time is gonna wreak havoc- no matter what you call it.

Trust me. There's a couple real winners living in those last two on the left. frickers would order EVERY week late at night. No tippin AP trash.

But most of our delivery area(from geismar to 621 to Freds on da Ribber and back to Healing Place) is NOT like that.

Those little pockets of white trashdom are kinda culturally important.

What vehicle do you drive to deliver pizza? I bet you've delivered to me in the past . I tip. Most of the time.

Good lord. Then there's your answer. There aren't any conveyance systems, natural or man-made, that can handle that amount of precipitation. Detention basins are generally designed to attenuate the runoff from a 10-year storm, which is 8.5" in 24hrs.

No doubt.

When they say "100 year event," it really means a 1% event. It's also based on time, so like an hour event, 12 hour event, 24 hour event, and so on. Yesterday was pretty close to a 100 year event if it was over 24 hours. If it was less, then it very well could have been a 100+ year event. Last year in Elmwood they had a 500 year event, while 3 miles away at my house we didn't get a drop. Gotta love the weather here.

gold 98 corolla most nights. piece of shite car all the way.

you'd recognize my big burley arse getting out a little car acting uncharacteristically professional and friendly for a pizza driver. I often get the "oh you must be busy if you have to deliver" b/c they assume I'm the manager.
You better not be in the over-mortgaged $2 tipping category.

Isn't that every pizza delivery driver?

Nope, definitely not you. Last time I ordered, a big, burley arse dude delivered but he was greasy, fat, and barely spoke a word to me. He got a $2 tip and I regretted even tipping that much.

You deliver for Dominos, correct?

And yea I've done this for YEARS. I love when I get the "hold on let me get you some cash" b/c they weren't gonna tip. I'm a friendly personable fricker. Don't sit there chatting about their dogs or kids for 5 minutes but just enough to be like "this is my night job. I went to college too. tip me a-hole"

We're all going there next Sat night for sure after LSU wins a Super game. Should be her and J and few other AP's finest.

That's my girl. In the thread a while back about guys being good friends with a girl and not being sexual, she's one of them to me I mentioned.

mikel, is a $4 tip on around $15-20 pizza order fair? Or good? Or crappy? If you got tipped that, would you think cheapskate, or be happy to go back to that house?
