Does the place still smell like Vicks and sweat?

Not entirely true.

Right. It's still not really on the same scale as to possibly be able to reasonably sustain such a show, it would seem to me.

You know what, it's probably unlikely to ever happen but there would be a ton of source material.

Right. And I don't see the harm in trying. At worst, N.O. will start to be in the back of people's minds for different things like this. People bitching about Mitch "wasting time" are idiots.

Agreed. N.O. will never be the hub that NY or LA are, but why not put the name in the hat?

frickin' THIS!

I do remember that it seemed to smell like powdered donuts in certain places, which was odd. I guess it was the Vic's mixed with E-sweat.

Direct flights at the airport would be an issue.

Why wouldn't it work? It's not like they film every single night of the fricking year. Nola only has 3-4 months out of the year that it's dead and tourism numbers are down. That's May-Aug. Those would be rerun months.

The other months the city is packed with festivals, conventions, Mardi gras, sports, people in town for weddings, etc, there is always something going on, not to mention there is always a handful of big time actors in town filming movies.

I think it's a great idea and would welcome the opportunity.

Could see Chicago or Miami getting the show if not LA. Nola would be cool, but God for big if the show went to Houston.

Jet Blue runs 2-3 non-stops between NY & NO every day and Delta offers (probably some other airlines do as well) non-stops back and forth between New Orleans and LA.

The biggest issue is that there are two main places for talk shows: LA & NYC and that's been challenged on by Chicago during the days when daytime interview shows (Donahue, Oprah, etc) ruled the airways.

I think it's a great idea to try it, especially as so much filming is going on in the state, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Who cares if there are festivals? That doesn't bring guests to a show. The handful of celebrities shooting movies would give you guests for maybe a week? And they usually go on talk shows when the movie is opening, not when they're shooting it. And four months of reruns for a talk show??? What a terrible idea.
