As for the statues themselves, the city has reached out to Beauvoir, Jefferson Davis’ former home in Biloxi, Mississippi, which now serves as a museum, as well as the Smithsonian Institution and Washington and Lee University to see if they would be interested in taking the monuments, but none has agreed, Landrieu said.

Attach an anchor and throw them into the Atlantic next to a sunken slave ship.

We asked a bunch of cities if they wanted Mitch to be their mayor and none of them agreed either.

But for real, find a museum for it.

Just not one funded by public dollars

They are statues.. no anchors required. Oh, and could you be any more shallow?

Washington and Lee will not take them. The campus is a National Historic Landmark. You don't just drop a statue down in the middle of that. Maybe the City of Lexington, VA could find a place for them in the cemetery or somewhere.

The Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond is an idea.

My guess is that a private museum of southern heritage will be born of this PC fiasco.

these types of monuments are scattered all around Mississippi. I am surprised that they have no takers at this point.

Why not just keep them in town so the next mayor can put them back up where they belong?

Enslaving black Africans and bringing them here was a bad idea. This may be the only thing we agree on.

I mean, think where this country would be today if we hadn't made that terrible mistake. The possibilities almost make me cry.

But it's okay to use tax payer money to remove, store, and transport them?

“There are a whole bunch of ways for people who mean what they say to engage in constructive dialogue so we can get to a better place rather than just score political points,” Landrieu said.

Can believe this cocksucker has the balls to say this? Mitch doesn't take a shite without thinking about the political implications. I'm liking him even less that I already did.

This whole debacle is nothing more than a revenge tour for Mitch against conservative white folk who ended the Landrieu dynasty by kicking her sister out of the senate and torpedoing any chance at Governor for him and a cabinet spot in DC with Trump winning the White House.

He's turned into nothing but a race baiting sore loser piece of shite on his way out of the door in 2018.

I don't have a link, but since you are in Mississippi, I will be glad to show them to you sometime when you have a free day. I passed one several times earlier today.

Obama's dad was from Kenya and his mom was white and from Kansas. He didn't come from people who had been here since slavery times
