La. Drivers license renewal

I can't renew online because I'm within 30 days. I'm currently out of state on the east coast and won't be home until March... Anyway I can renew without going to a local office?

Out of state. Best bet would be to call and see if they can send you a letter or something. Dmv sent me a letter to cover my expired brake tag

I thought you could do it within 30 days online but it was after that 30 you had to go to OMV? Hmm.

You can do the renew by mail thing. They send you a sticker you put on your license with the new expiration date. Although my wife said that thing can be a bitch-kitty. She renewed her license in New York state that way and when she moved back here, they gave her grief about having a license with a sticker on it.

Yeah... Been on the site and bounced around the phone for 40 minutes... No one could give me a definitive answer. Finally someone stated I had to speak with another department but of course it was 4:36 and the closed at 4:30.., no help until wed. now
Eta: thanks for the sticker info... Hoping I can fly home and not have an issue because of the license.

You can get thru tsa with an expired license. You can get thru tsa without having any identification at all, just tell the tsa boarding pass checker you don't have any forms of id. They'll move you out of line and ask you some questions to verify your identity. Just add in an extra 15 mins for any possible delays.
Bottom line, you can get thru tsa without an ID
Edit: also opt out of the body scanner. The tsa will love you. Budget an additional 10 minutes for this fun

I recently renewed my Georgia drivers license. I had to provide the following documentation:
Checklist of all Accepted Documents
Since the new license requirements are a federal program, they should apply to all states if the states truly meet federal requirements.
You don't want to fly to Louisiana only to find you are missing a document.
DMV will scan all documents.
The "Proof of Residential Address" may be a problem for you.
